"From his tight niche Sam could see the beasts dive and flap over the liquid waves, screeching at the searing heat burning their thin wings. The wraiths were matched in a battle of wills as they gripped the reins and pulled at the beasts' foaming bits. One dove and flew close over the pathway that had led Sam into the accursed place; its talons spread wide, piercing the air as it raced past. It had nearly collided with the far wall when Sam saw it rear back and clutch something between its claws. " (from "The Claiming of the Ring", by Europanya)
Another illustration for Europanya's fanfic. Fellbeasts are fun to draw (non-movie-verse here), although I changed it so that they descend from the top of Mount Doom, rather than fly in through the doorway. And Sam is like, barely visible. *curses her bad vision*
Yup.
Materials: Mechanical Pencil.

Lord of the Rings is (C) J.R.R. Tolkien
"Claiming of the Ring" is by Europanya
This reminds me of the episode of Family Matters where Urkel decides to build a machine to change himself into "Stephan," the suave, cool version of himself so that Laura would fall in love with him. She does at first, but she comes to realize that the shallowness of Stephan pales in comparison to the true hearted nature of Steve and asks him to change back.
Man... If I weren't such a hermit about fan fiction, I'd go and read that story you're always drawing about. But I've all but seperated myself from the LOTR fan fiction community for months and months now.
Actually, I'm starting to feel a little sad, because those were some good times back then, writing and reading. But I've become so wrapped up in just living in my fan fiction, rather than really writing it, the plot bunnies have long over-run me. Like a swarm of locust! Maybe, what is really wrong with me is that I've lost the nerve to slay those little buggers.
FRODO: I'm not complaining.
Agh! You again! Go back to your hidey-hole, man, and leave me to my silly affairs.
FRODO: Sure. I don't want to be a part of them.
That was... abnormally easy. Ah, well! I'm just a washed-up, good-for-nothing, two-bit hack now, at least in the ways of fiction. But I so totally kicked butt with that fan art contest! XD Yay! Now I feel better!

It was the best episode of Family Matters ever.
